MY cousin has one of the mitral homografts that seved him well for how many years now. He thought that he was one of the first recipients. I can understand why he would want to go back to the same surgeon.:
Paul Stelzer M.D
Dr. Stelzer has extensive experience in the use of various arterial conduits for myocardial revascularization and in complex valve procedures including mitralhomograft and stentless bioprosthesis for aortic valve replacement (Medronic freestyle) for which he was one of the principle investigators. His experience with the Ross Procedure in over 200 patients is one of the most extensive in the world.

Dr. Stelzer has served on the faculties at Cornell-New York Hospital and the University of Oklahoma. Prior to joining the cardiac team at Beth Israel he was an attending cardiothoracic surgeon at Lenox Hill Hospital.
